Recharging

It was a social week. Dinner downtown with several of Dan's coworkers. Two long walks with friends. Texting old and new friends. Two of my study groups. Another afternoon on campus and visiting an art museum with Paige. A doctor appointment at an office with the friendliest staff who like to talk for a while. A landscaping service project at an elementary school, followed by going to our friends' house so Dan could fix the soaker hoses in the garden with the husband and I could pick up my sourdough bread order from the wife, followed by a two-hour stake luncheon and social where I had to talk loudly the whole two hours because there were three bands playing fun music.

I was socially worn out. I really enjoy people and events, but I also need a lot of quiet alone time. My throat hurt from so much talking all week. So Colby and I left Dan watching football and Paige doing homework, and we visited the botanical gardens. It was quiet. Peaceful. Beautiful.

On our way home, we shopped for fondue ingredients to snack on all night after dinner. I watched a movie with Paige, slept deeply last night, took a very long walk with Dan this morning, and I'm finally feeling recharged.
