Carson’s okay and ready to move on. It was Dan who cried when Carson’s last school soccer game ended tonight, and then he cried harder when Carson hugged him. Dan’s not ready to move on, not ready to let Carson move on, not ready for the end of watching all our kids’ sports and activities, not ready for the next phase. It was a hard night for Dan.
For 25 years his kids have been his priority, and he’s scheduled his life around being at as many of their events as possible to support them. For this last game, he began work earlier in the morning and worked from home so that we could leave at 2:00 pm and drive 2.5 hours north. It wasn’t an option for him to miss it. We got home at 10:30 pm.
