Leah read it, then my mom read it, and now it's my turn. I'm a few chapters in, but I peeked ahead at some terrible things that make me so, so, so sad.
Leah was her roommate in the year leading up to her mom's arrest. The year when her family disowned her. The year when she tried to raise alarms and involve police to save her siblings, but authorities didn't do their part. The year before the world found out about the horrific child abuse inflicted on her younger siblings.
*Update* I just finished reading the book, and Leah is not either one of the roommates Shari briefly writes about. Those are the other ones, and Leah is not mentioned.
